Materials:
- white shoes
- fabric dye (any color)
- bucket (don't dye your nice pots purple like I did)
- Rags, or if you want to kill the planet, paper towels
DO IT:
- remove the inserts from the bottom of your shoes and remove the laces
- Separate the dye into two cups with the majority in one cup and about 1/3 in the other
- fill your bucket with 1 gallon of steaming water and 1/4 cup of salt
- dump the container with the least amount of dye into the bucket and stir
- submerge your shoes completely in this mixture for 15 minuets
- rinse out shoes in warm water over a sink
- place the rest of the dye in the bucket and stir
- place the shoes back in the water so that only the part that you want to be darkened is submerged and let sit for 5 mins, This creates the ombre effect which can be done as many times as desired
- pull the shoes out a little farther and let sit for 15 mins
- When 15mins is up rinse the entire shoe in warm water and let dry. Viola!
